-have passed the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Parts I and II
-be a member in good standing of the provincial or territorial medical regulatory authority
-have successfully completed the CPA’s Certification Examination
Step Three: Experience
As with many professional qualifications, the QPMH credential requires both education and experience. Educated applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Mental Health (or a related field), as well as two years post-degree professional experience working with clients in the mental health field.
Experience can be earned in a number of ways, including but not limited to: direct provision of therapy or counseling services; indirectly providing support to clients through case management, consultation, or psychological testing; or through academic research or teaching in the field of mental health. Eligible experience must have been accrued within the last ten years.
